Build and repair the surface. You work the paving and repair crew on commercial lots, municipal streets and industrial pavement, from saw cut and dig-out through lay-down and compaction.

What you will do

  • Saw cut, dig out and prepare failed pavement for repair.
  • Rake, lute and shovel hot mix behind the paver to grade.
  • Run plate compactors and rollers under a foreman's direction.
  • Set and maintain traffic control around an active work zone.
  • Keep the truck, tools and yard clean and accounted for.

What you need

  • Reliable transportation to the Austin yard.
  • Comfortable working around hot mix, heavy equipment and moving traffic.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy material repeatedly through a shift.
  • Willing to work early mornings and the occasional night or weekend.

Helpful to have

  • Previous asphalt, concrete or road construction experience.
  • Roller or skid steer experience.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
