The paving, sealing and striping business runs deep in the Wheeler family.
In the early 1940s, Cliff Schoen started paving and repairing streets in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio. He taught the trade to his son-in-law, Bob Wheeler, who went on to open the Jennite Company in 1946. Jennite quickly became Toledo's preferred paving and sealing contractor, with Bob setting the standards for high-quality work, competitive prices, and excellent customer service. Today, Jennite still upholds these values.
In the early 1970s, Bob's son Jack joined the Ohio crew, where he learned the trade and the importance of reliability and dedication. Jack brought these values and his knowledge to Texas, where he founded Wheeler Coatings in Austin in 1982. Jack continued to run Wheeler Coatings into the early 2000s while teaching his son Tyler everything he knew.
In 2016, Tyler founded Stripe-It-Up in Austin, continuing the legacy of reliable asphalt paving, repair, and maintenance. Stripe-It-Up is committed to delivering only the best for the needs of all its customers and is here to stay.
